In short
Hush keeps everything on your iPhone or iPad. There is no account, no server and no cloud behind the app. I, the developer, receive nothing about you, your children or your home.

What Hush stores on your device
To work, Hush saves the following in its own storage on your device:
- the profiles you create: a child's name, colour and emoji, and a birthday if you add one
- which cameras and sensors belong to which child, and how each camera view is framed
- when the monitor was running, when you checked, notes you write, motion reported by HomeKit sensors, and room temperature and humidity readings
- your settings, and a technical log that helps diagnose problems overnight
None of this leaves your device through Hush. It is part of your device backup if you use one (iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer), under Apple's terms for those backups. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Cameras and HomeKit
Hush uses Apple's HomeKit to show your cameras and to read your motion, occupancy, temperature and humidity sensors. It asks for permission to access your home the first time you start it.
The camera picture and sound are shown live and are never recorded, stored or analysed by Hush. Data from HomeKit is used only to provide the features you see in the app — never for advertising, profiling or any other purpose — and is never passed on to anyone.
Purchases
Hush Premium is sold by Apple. Apple handles the payment; I never see your payment details or your Apple Account. The app receives a signed confirmation from Apple that the purchase exists, so that it can unlock Premium on your devices.
Crash reports
Hush contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code that collects data. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may provide me with anonymous crash reports and performance figures. You can switch this off there at any time.
If you write to me, I use your email address and what you send only to answer you, and delete it when it is no longer needed, unless the law requires me to keep it.
This website
This website is hosted by IONOS SE (Germany) on a server I rent. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other services. The server keeps no access logs; error logs, which can contain an IP address, are kept only as long as needed to fix technical problems.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Because Hush keeps your data on your device, you can see, change and delete it yourself in the app. For anything else, write to info@fabianschneider.net.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date.
