Hush is not a medical device
Hush shows the picture from your own cameras and wakes your screen when you touch it or when a HomeKit motion sensor reports movement. It does not monitor breathing, heart rate, oxygen or any other vital sign, and it is not designed to prevent sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) or any other harm. Hush does not replace an adult looking after a child.
What Hush cannot promise
Hush depends on things outside its control: your cameras, your Wi-Fi, Apple's Home app and HomeKit, your home hub, and your iPhone or iPad. Any of them can delay, interrupt or stop the picture, the sound or the sensor readings without warning — and while the screen is dark, Hush may not be able to tell you. Hush itself does not detect sound or crying, and it plays no alarm.
Before each night
- Put the iPhone or iPad on its charger. Hush keeps the screen on so that HomeKit keeps streaming.
- Check that every camera shows a live picture.
- If you rely on hearing the room, check that the sound is on and loud enough, and that a Focus mode or the mute switch does not silence it.
Around the cot
- Keep cameras, cables and chargers at least one metre from the cot and out of your child's reach. Cables can cause strangulation.
- Follow the safe-sleep advice of your paediatrician or midwife.
If you have any concern about your child's health, contact a doctor or your local emergency number.
